Beginning in the spring, all original graphic novels and collected editions of comics published by DC Entertainment will include a page of cataloging information from the Library of Congress. Now, in addition to a copyright info page, DC graphic novels will include the Library of Congress Cataloging-in-Publication data.
The page of data is a reference tool and will make it easier for librarians around the country to find DC Entertainment books. The first books to include the cataloging information will be collected editions of The New 52, the recent relaunch of the DC Comics superhero universe. The books will include Justice League: Origin Vol. 1 by Geoff Johns and Jim Lee, Batman: Court of Owls Vol. by Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo in addition to Get Jiro! written by renowned chef, Anthony Bourdain and Joel Rose with art by Langdon Foss.
John Cunningham, DC Entertainment v-p, marketing, said, “DC Entertainment recognizes the importance of the library market and wants to ensure that our books are available in libraries across the country.” Cunningham said, “we're looking to provide librarians with as much information on our products as possible, as well as enabling them to access and catalog our books more easily and effectively. And how cool is it that from here on, a copy of all of our collections will now be in the Library Of Congress?"
