Austin-based Greenleaf Book Group has received a new investment from the private equity firm Noson Lawen Partners. Terms of the new funding weren’t disclosed, but the firm’s Earl Maccomber said in a prepared statement that Noson is prepared to make further investments in Greenleaf to expand its product line through internal growth and acquisition.

Greenleaf founder Clint Greenleaf will remain in charge of the day-to-day operations as CEO. Clint Greenleaf told PW that after being courted by different firms for about three years, the Noson Lawen offer "was the first deal that made sense and allows us to keep our team together." With 47 employees, Greenleaf both publishes and distributes titles from independent presses and has either published or distributed over 1,000 titles in its 14-year history. The company will publish and distribute about 150 titles this year, a 10% increase over 2010. The investment, Clint Greenleaf added, "will allow us to seriously grow the business" including doing such things as expanding platforms for authors.
