Baker & Taylor has signed an agreement with the arts and crafts chain Michaels to manage the retailer’s book program. The deal is in keeping with B&T’s strategy to supply print and e-book programs to retailers whose core business is not books. Earlier this year, B&T signed a similar agreement with Shopco. The agreement with Michaels is to supply print books only at this point.
“Baker & Taylor was specifically chosen to manage our book program based on its dedication to increasing sales and improving the productivity of our inventory,” said Eric Dickenson, v-p at Michaels. “Together with Baker & Taylor, we look forward to creating a must-shop book section for our customers and hobby enthusiasts.”
