Robert Harris, author of bestsellers such as Pompeii and The Ghost Writer, has moved to Knopf for his next two books. After working with David Rosenthal, first at Random House and then at Simon & Schuster, Harris inked a two-book deal with Sonny Mehta. The first book, a modern-day thriller set in Geneva called The Fear Index, is scheduled for early next year. Mehta preempted North American rights to the the titles in a deal negotiated by Michael Carlisle at Inkwell Management.
The second book in the deal will be the last entry in Harris' Cicero Trilogy (which includes Imperium and Conspirata).
