Octopus Publishing Group, a division of Hachette UK, has acquired illustrated international reference publisher Ilex. Under the deal, which has been completed, Ilex will become an imprint of Octopus which has plans to expand the company’s business in North America.
Ilex produces illustrated reference titles which cover all aspects of creativity and popular culture. Its list includes more than 20 titles from renowned international photographer and writer Michael Freeman whose works include the bestselling The Photographer’s Eye and The Complete Guide to Digital Photography.
