On behalf of Publishers Weekly, I am delighted to introduce the newest regular contributor to our library coverage: Sari Feldman.
In addition to serving as executive director of the Cuyahoga County Public Library in Cleveland, Ohio—one of the nation’s largest and highest-rated public library systems—Sari is a former president of both the Public Library Association (2009–2010) and the American Library Association (2015–2016). And from 2012 to 2015, she co-chaired the ALA’s Digital Content Working Group, which opened an unprecedented channel of communication between trade publishers and the library community, and played a vital role in breaking the impasse over e-book access.
In her new role at PW, Sari plans to focus on the innovative ways libraries and librarians are connecting books and readers. “PW is a great champion for the role that libraries play in the marketplace and ecosystem of books and reading,” Feldman says, “and I’m honored to be part of the team.”
Feldman will write a monthly column for PW and contribute to PW’s coverage of library events, including ALA and PLA.
