Cambridge Completes Warehouse Sale
Cambridge University Press has completed the sale of its U.S. warehouse and distribution facility in West Nyack, N.Y. CUP announced plans to sell the warehouse as part of a strategic process that included an agreement last summer with Ingram Publisher Services to have Ingram manage the warehousing and distribution of the press’s U.S. printed inventory.

Hachette Updates Environmental Progress
In its annual report on the progress it has made in hitting various environmental goals, Hachette Book Group said today that it is ahead of pace in two key areas but behind in a third. HBG has already surpassed its target for reducing total greenhouse gas emissions as well as for the use of Forest Stewardship Council paper, but is behind its goal in increasing the use of recycled paper.

Wordclay to Close December 31
Wordclay.com, an online, bare-bones Do-it-Yourself service for print book publishing owned by Author Solutions, Inc. announced that it will close its virtual doors on December 31. In a statement, Worldclay said the increased preference for e-book publishing over print by self-published authors was the reason it was closing down.

In Deal with Donnelley, Harper Exits Warehouse Business
HarperCollins and R.R. Donnelley have signed a new agreement that will create one centralized warehouse that will serve as the distribution site for all HC U.S. titles, including those published by its Christian publishing division that houses Zondervan and Thomas Nelson. Harper said it expects the new facility to be opened next summer and that it will close its two warehouses in Scranton, Penn. and Nashville.
