Book tie-ins from Disney Press include two titles by James Ponti: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time: The Movie Storybook (978-1423117827, $6.99) and ...The Junior Novel (978-1423117803, $5.99); and Michael Singer’s We Make Our Own Destiny: Behind the Scenes of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (978-1423117544, $24.95). There’s also Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time: The Visual Guide (DK Children’s Publishing, 978-0756657635, $16.99) and Prince of Persia: The Graphic Novel by Jordan Mechner, et al. (First Second, 978-1596436022, $7.99), about which PW wrote “Video gamers should enjoy this byproduct of a popular franchise.”

This morning’s Today show met with Kathy Kinney, co-author of Queen of Your Own Life (Harlequin, 978-0373892150, $18.95).

Authors on today’s Leonard Lopate Show:

Stephan Salisbury, Pulitzer Prize–winning staff writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer, introduced Mohamed's Ghosts: An American Story of Love and Fear in the Homeland (Nation Books, 978-1568584287, $26.95). PW’s review had this to say: “Though digressive and anecdotal, the text acquires cumulative power, especially in its vivid portrayals of Imam Ghorab and his wife, Meriem Moumen. Their heartbreaking story gives this frequently diffuse text a human center.”

Finnish-Estonian novelist and playwright Sofi Oksanen, with her international bestseller Purge (Grove/Black Cat, 978-0802170774, $14.95). PW thought “The translation has some rough spots, and the narrative can be heavier on history than humanity.”

Authors on tonight’s Tavis Smiley:

Bestselling author and Vanity Fair contributing editor Sebastian Junger declared War (Twelve, 978-0446556248, $26.99; Hachette Audio unabridged CD, $29.98). PW’s starred review considered it a “riveting combat narrative... an unforgettable portrait of men under fire.”

Novelist Chuck Palahniuk, whose new novel is Tell-All (Doubleday, 978-0385526357, $24.95; Blackstone Audio unabridged CD, $32.95), which PW called a “rude sendup of name-dropping and the culture of celebrity worship. Unfortunately, this gossipy fantasia is a one-joke premise that, even at its modest length, wears out its welcome well before Miss Kathie's final fade-out.”

Due to the nature of live programming, scheduling is subject to change.

Booksellers can order these titles through Ingram at ipage.
