Barnes & Noble is teaming with A&E Network on an exclusive marketing partnership for the network's new original drama series The Glades, which premieres July 11 at 10:00 PM/ET. In what's being called a TV and book industry first, A&E has adapted its pilot script of The Glades—a police procedural produced by Clifton Campbell, who did 21 Jump Street—into a free print and e-book. B&N will promote and distribute the book in stores and online in advance of the show’s broadcast premiere.

Starting today, The Glades book will be featured in displays in roughly half of B&N's stores. Customers are free to take a copy while supplies last. Retailers will also ship complimentary copies of The Glades with BN.com orders through July. A free e-book version of The Glades is available on BN.com.

B&N v-p of marketing Patricia Bostelman said, “We believe our crime and murder mystery-loving customers in particular will enjoy the opportunity to read the script before the show airs.”
