This evening, The Colbert Report talks with Heidi Cullen, author of The Weather of the Future: Heat Waves, Extreme Storms, and Other Scenes from a Climate-Changed Planet (Harper, 978-0061726880, $25.99), which PW thought “presents a surprisingly optimistic view of humanity's determination to come to terms with a daunting future.”

Yesterday on The Early Show: Girls Leadership Institute founder Rachel Simmons, whose The Curse of the Good Girl: Raising Authentic Girls with Courage and Confidence (Penguin, 978-0143117988, $15) comes out in paperback next week. PW pointed out that “Simmons offers instructive tales out of school and workshops... parents will find concrete strategies and tools to help guide a girl's growth into a young woman who can respect and listen to her inner voice, say what she feels and thinks, embrace her limits and present an authentic self to the world.”

Also yesterday, Oprah re-aired a segment with Todd Bridges, author of Killing Willis: From Diff'rent Strokes to the Mean Streets to the Life I Always Wanted (Touchstone, 978-1439148983, $26).

Due to the nature of live programming, scheduling is subject to change.
