Three movies with literary connections open today. The first is Rango, starring Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, Abigail Breslin, Alfred Molina, and Ray Winstone. Also opening today is The Adjustment Bureau, starring Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Anthony Mackie, Shohreh Aghdashloo, and John Slattery. It is based on a short story by Philip K. Dick, which is in Selected Short Stories by Philip K. Dick (Pantheon, ISBN 978-0375421518). Finally, Beastly, starring Alex Pettyfer, Vanessa Hudgens, Mary-Kate Olsen, Peter Krause, and Neil Patrick Harris hits theaters today. It is based on Beastly by Alex Flinn (Harper Teen, ISBN 978-0061963285).

Dan Abrams, author of Man Down: Proof Beyond a Reasonable Doubt that Women are Better Cops, Drivers, Gamblers, Spies, World Leaders, Beer Tasters, Hedge Fund Managers, and Just about Everything Else (Abrams Image, ISBN 978-0810998292), is onOWN’s Gayle King and The View today.
