Little, Brown and Company senior editor John Parsley has been promoted to executive editor. Parsley joined Little, Brown and Company as a senior editor in the fall of 2007 and prior he was an editor at the Thomas Dunne Books division of St. Martin’s Press. Some of his Little, Brown and Company bestsellers include Sam Kean’s The Disappearing Spoon, Kevin Mitnick’s Ghost in the Wires, Cold by Bill Streever, and Annie Jacobson’s Area 51.

Kids Can Press has announced the following hires:

Lisa Charters has been hired as v-p, brands, new media, and new channel revenue at Kids Can Press. Charters was most recently senior v-p, director, digital at Random House of Canada.

Adrienne Tang, most recently rights and sales associate at KCP assumes the role of manager, new media and new business development reporting to Lisa Charters.

As part of the realignment of resources, international rights sales will now fall under the purview of sales director Molly Helferty, with rights manager Eva Svec reporting to her. KCP's sales representative, Shannon Kohlmeier will add rights responsibilities, working alongside Eva Svec. KCP's v-p and publisher, Karen Boersma, will continue to oversee TV/film rights, as well as merchandising.
