On-demand digital library Safari Books Online has named Andrew Savikas CEO. The company has also hired Steve Kolenda, full-time, as CFO and COO. Savikas has been interim CEO for several months, while also serving as v-p of digital initiatives at O'Reilly Media where, among other things, he was program chair for the company's TOC conference. Kolenda has been Safari's part-time CFO since its 2001 launch.
Safari is a joint venture between O'Reilly Media and Pearson.
