Thomas LeBien will join Simon & Schuster December 21 as v-p and senior editor, specializing in history and other nonfiction works. LeBien is moving to S&S from Farrar, Straus and Giroux, where he is publisher of the Hill & Wang and Scientific American imprints. In his eight years at FSG, LeBien focused on building a history list while also acquiring other nonfiction titles, from sports to science to graphic nonfiction. Among those books are John Hope Franklin's Mirror To America and Woody Holton's Unruly Americans and the Origins of the Constitution. Prior to his time at FSG, he was an editor at Oxford University Press and Princeton University Press.
