Alyson Sinclair has been named publicity director at McSweeney's, effective November 21. She was most recently marketing and publicity manager at City Lights. Sinclair replaces Juliet Litman, who will become managing editor at Grantland Quarterly, whose first issue McSweeney's will publish this month.
Beth Silfin has been promoted to v-p and deputy general counsel at HarperCollins. Silfin joined HarperCollins in 1997 as associate general counsel, and was promoted to v-p following the company’s acquisition of William Morrow in 1999. Tom Ward will be leaving HC's legal department.
Also at HarperCollins, Cindy DiTiberio is being promoted to senior editor. She joined the editorial department eight years ago as an editorial assistant.
