HarperCollins announced that Carrie Thornton will join the company in January 2012 as executive editor for It Books. Thornton comes to It Books from Dutton, where she was executive editor from December 2008 to December 2011.
Paul Whitlatch has been promoted to editor at Scribner. He was previously an associate editor.
Laura Minchew has been promoted to seinor v-p of specialty publishing for Thomas Nelson. She was previously publisher of the children's book and education division.
Rebecca Carter is to leave Random House to join Janklow & Nesbit’s London office as a literary agent. After working at Anne Louise-Fisher Associates, Carter started as an editor at Chatto & Windus in 1997.
