Nancy Laties Feresten has been named senior v-p for children's publishing and media at National Geographic. She has been with the company since 1999 as v-p and editor-in-chief of children's books. She will now oversee the National Geographic Kids content development team, which includes kids' magazines, books, digital products, web site, and television.
Jennifer Emmett has been promoted to v-p, editorial director, children's books at National Geographic, taking over from Nancy Feresten. Emmett has been editorial director since 2010.
Liese Mayer will join Overlook Press as associate editor/manager, contracts and subsidiary rights. She was previously an associate editor at Little Brown/Hachette.
Anne Tate has been promoted to publicity manager at Simon & Schuster. She joined the publicity department in 2011 as senior publicist.
