Following the decision by the Anderson family to drop its plans to buy back all of the shares in Books-A-Million that it does not own, the bookstore chain has hired a corporate development analyst. Michael G. Rediker, whose background is in investment banking, has been named to the new spot where he will report to James Turner, executive v-p. As CDA, Rediker will be responsible for identifying, analyzing and implementing strategic corporate initiatives, including new business growth opportunities, and will report to James Turner, executive v-p. BAM said. At his most recent job with the investment banking firm Paces Battle Group, BAM said Rediker provided an array of transactional and other corporate finance services to bank and thrift clients.
"I’m very pleased to have Michael join the Books-A-Million team and know his prior experience will be an asset as we continue to explore growth opportunities for the company," Turner said.
