Michele Martin will join Gallery Books Group as v-p and associate publisher, reporting to Louise Burke beginning March 4. Martin has been with Simon & Schuster before, from 1994-1999, when she held the position of v-p, associate publisher of the Simon & Schuster imprint. Most recently, she founded and ran MDM Management, which will now be assumed by CSG Literary Partners.
In her new position she will work with the Gallery Books, Threshold and Pocket imprints and will work closely with newly-named Gallery Books division publisher, Jennifer Bergstrom, publicity director Jennifer Robinson, and marketing director Liz Psaltis. In a memo announcing Martin's appointment, Burke noted that "her arrival completes the leadership team that will help us position our imprints for further success in today’s marketplace." Burke has been making shifts at Gallery following the reorganization of the S&S adult program last fall.
