Angela Bole, currently deputy executive director of the Book Industry Study Group, has been named executive director of the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA). Bole is replacing Florrie Binford Kichler who will retire from IBPA in June. Terry Nathan will continue as chief operating officer of IBPA.
Bole, who will start at IBPA July 17 and be based in New York City, has been deputy executive director of BISG since March 2009, having previously served two years as associate director and two years as marketing and communications manager. “I couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome of IBPA’s executive director search,” said IBPA chair Steve Mettee. “Angela’s unique combination of intelligence, experience, skills, and energy is sure to help propel IBPA’s 30 years of success into decades more.”
