Cal Morgan, who has been overseeing It Books for the last two years, has been promoted to senior v-p and executive editor at Harper. Morgan will keep his role as editorial director of both Harper Perennial and Harper paperbacks.
With Morgan's new role, both the It Books and Newmarket Press imprints will now report to Morrow, which is overseen by Liate Stehlik. Lynn Grady has been named senior v-p and publisher of It Books, reporting to Stehlik. Grady remains deputy publisher of Morrow/Voyager/Avon Books.
At It Books, Morgan oversaw the acquisition of, among other titles, Jess Walter’s bestseller Beautiful Ruins, Kelly Oxford’s Everything Is Perfect When You’re a Liar and Lauren Redniss’s National Book Award finalist Radioactive.
