Penguin Random House has created a consumer marketing development and operations group which will be led by Amanda Close. The unit combines the corporate consumer marketing operations that Penguin and RH had operated. Close, who was named senior v.p. and director, had been leading RH’s digital marketing and channel development team.
The new consumer group will both support the dedicated title-, author- and category-marketing initiatives conducted by all PRH U.S. publishing groups, while at the same time taking a lead in the development of company-wide corporate digital programs, platforms, and partnerships.
“By approaching marketing development this way,” said Madeline McIntosh, U.S. president and COO, “both from within publishing and from a broader corporate standpoint, we will be able to most effectively expand our consumer-focused capabilities, and deliver value for our publishers, authors, booksellers, and readers.”
Joining Close in running the group will be Suzie Sisoler, v-p, director, consumer acquisition and engagement, PRH; Christine McNamara, v-p, director, content and partnerships, PRH; Jinny Kwon, v-p, director, consumer design and development, PRH; and Chelsea Vaugh, v-p, director, marketing operations, PRH.
