Jack Covert, president and founder of 30-year-old 800-CEO-READ, an offshoot of the Harry W. Schwartz Bookshops in Milwaukee, Wisc., and author of The 100 Best Business Books of All Time, retired at the end of May. Under Covert, 800-CEO-READ grew from a bookstore telephone sales operation of one into an influential B2B company for business books.
CEO and co-owner Carol Grossmeyer and general manager Sally Haldorson will run the day-to-day operations of the company. Covert will still be involved in 800-CEO-READ in a consulting capacity.
