Jeff Carroll will join Macmillan as executive v-p of marketing and consumer strategy on September 3, reporting to Maya Mavjee, president of publishing strategy. Macmillan's central marketing team will now report to Carroll.

“Jeff’s deep passion for books, his significant leadership experience in digital and consumer marketing, and his strong contacts with all our major platform partners make me confident that he'll be the right person to lead us into the future as we face exciting developments in our business,” Mavjee said in a statement.

Previously v-p of digital partnerships and strategy at Viacom, Carroll worked with the Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, and VH1 brands, and built digital partnerships across emerging digital platforms including voice/AI, augmented and virtual reality, games and apps, e-books, and audiobooks. He was formerly at NBCUniversal, where he directed integrated marketing and brand campaigns for NBC Sports, Late Night, and News brands. Most recently, Carroll led marketing efforts at Radio.com for apps and podcasting.

Carroll said in a statement he was "thrilled" to be joining Macmiillan and is looking forward to help the company find new ways to connect to readers. “Consumers discover and engage with content in so many different ways, and we must continue to evolve our traditional and digital marketing to fit their lifestyles. Together we can meet the challenges in the constantly shifting landscape and bring continued growth and success to the company.”
