Two days after Borders announced that Ric Vanzura is stepping down as v-p of emerging technology/chief strategy officer, the retailer said Bill Nasshan, senior v-p of trade books, will leave the company Friday. Nasshan, who joined Borders in 2003 and helped implement its category management strategy, will become executive v-p of merchandising and marketing at Shaw's Supermarkets. Under new CEO George Jones, Borders has abandoned the category management strategy. Until a replacement is found, Rob Gruen, executive v-p, merchandising and marketing, will assume Nasshan’s duties.
