The new management team of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Trade & Reference Publishers will not include Dan Farley, who had served as president of Harcourt Trade. According to an HMH Trade spokesperson, Farley will leave the company at the end of January. Gary Gentel, who had served as interim president of HM Trade & Reference Group, was named president of HMH Trade last month. His first appointments to fill upper management spots include a mix of former Houghton Mifflin and Harcourt executives.
Bridget Marmion, who had been corporate v-p and director of marketing at HM, was named senior v-p of marketing. Marmion was at Random House before joining Houghton in 1998. Laurie Brown, who’s been senior v-p of sales and marketing at Harcourt since 2002, has been named senior v-p of sales. And Mia Camacho has been promoted from corporate v-p, director of finance, planning and operations at HM to senior v-p of finance and operations.
