Andy Ward, current executive editor of GQ, has been named v-p and executive editor of Random House's flagship imprint. Ward, who will report to RH editor-in-chief/editorial director of Dial Press Susan Kamil, has been at the Conde Nast magazine for the past seven years and, before that, was articles editor at Esquire. In an announcement from Kamil, she called Ward someone with "encompassing gifts as an editor" who has "consistently demonstrated a keen, devoted eye for the potential of his writers, their ideas, and their manuscripts."

Ward has worked on pieces by such authors as David Sedaris, George Saunders and Richard Powers. He starts at Random House in mid-September.
