Joseph Monti has been named director of paperbacks at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. Monti will be overseeing all of the imprint's middle grade and young adult paperback reissues in the newly created position. He will also be editing and acquiring titles. Set to start on January 7, Monti will be reporting directly to senior v-p and publisher of LBBYR, Megan Tingley.
Monti arrives from Houghton Mifflin where, since 2006, he's been manager of national accounts for the publisher's children's trade division. Before joining Houghton, he was a buyer at B&N, handling middle grade titles and then YA, for 18 years.
