After six years running the Old Greenwich, Conn.-based Just Books Too, the Lawton family is putting the store up for sale, along with its neighboring coffee shop, Arcadia Coffee Company. The two businesses, both owned by the Lawtons, are being sold separately. Jenny Lawton said she is seeking new buyers because she could no longer "continue subsidizing the businesses." She added that "Any and all options will be considered at this time that would enable these cherished institutions to continue operating in the manner that the residents know and love.”

The Lawtons acquired Just Books from longtime owner Warren Cassel. Lawton attributed the need to sell the stores to the slow economy and the need for capital improvements at both locations that she is not in a position to make. A fundraiser to pay off the store's debts before its sale is in the works with details still to come.
