Amazon’s publishing imprint, AmazonEncore, is publishing four original manuscripts for the first time this spring. The books—Page From a Tennessee Journal by Francine Thomas Howard, Greyhound by Steffan Piper, A Cruel Harvest by Paul Reid, and Crossing by Andrew Fukuda—were all submitted for last year’s Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest. AmazonEncore was launched last year with the publication of Cayla Kluver's Legacy, a title that Kluver had self-published. Three more titles self-published by Amazon's CreateSpace division were added in November.

Jeff Belle, v-p of Amazon Books, said the Breathrough contest “brings in many worthy manuscripts. We’ve identified these four manuscripts as examples of authors whose work we think deserves a larger audience, and we’re excited to help these authors find their readers.” AmazonEncore will release the books in print (Tennessee Journal in hardcover; Greyhound, A Cruel Harvest, and Crossing in paperback) and in Kindle editions.

The books are coming out in March, April, and May.
