Simon & Schuster has debuted a new Web site specifically for its partners--authors, distributors, agents, booksellers, marketing clients and other vendors--as part of a company-wide online initiative that began in January 2009 with the relaunch of its main site. The new b-to-b site can be found at www.simonandschuster.biz.
Ellie Hirschhorn, executive v-p and chief digital officer at S&S, said that the site is there to "provide an easy-to-use, one-stop location" for the house's business partners. To that end, the site contains digital catalogs, author photos, marketing materials and corporate information. The site also allows authors to promote themselves, by uploading content, such as blog posts, that will also be on the house's general site, simonandschuster.com.
