Taschen is celebrating its 30th anniversary by republishing some of its most popular titles as new, lower-priced "Golden Books." Each month, the house will release a new Golden Book, in a slightly different format than the original and wrapped with a removable "30 Taschen Golden Book" label.

On the roster of titles getting the Golden treatment is Moonfire, about Apollo 11, which Taschen published last year as a $1,000 limited edition hardcover that came with a signed, framed, numbered gelatin photograph of astronaut Buzz Aldrin. The Golden book version, out June 1, is $39.99 and the same length as the original. Another Golden book is Michelangelo: Life and Work. The house published a $200 version of the book in 2007; the scaled-down edition still features an illustrated biographical essay, full page reproductions and enlarged details. It is also priced at $39.99. Other forthcoming titles include LaChapelle, Heaven to Hell ($39.99) and Modern Architecture A-Z ($59.99). The program will run throughout the year.
