On the heels of Barnes & Noble’s announcement that it is launching a self-publishing service, distributor BookMasters has gone public with its decision to enter the field. The company today announced that it is starting a digital production and distribution service for self-published authors called AUTURO. It is tying the launch in to BEA DIY, which takes place next Monday in New York City.
The expansion into self-publishing services extends BookMasters’ range of publishing services. In addition to giving authors the ability to disseminate their works, AUTURO also offers assistance with sales, marketing, promotion, and publicity. At the present time, AUTURO distributes self-published works into more than 40 digital outlets, and BookMasters said it will distribute to more than 125 by the summer. Books may be published both as print books and e-books.
No costs to use the program or royalty splits have yet been disclosed.
