One-year-old Tyrus Books, which publishes crime and dark literary fiction, has acquired Busted Flush Press, LLC., which publishes previously out of print thrillers and hardboiled crime fiction.
Benjamin LeRoy, publisher and president of Tyrus, who founded Bleak House in 2001 before launching Tyrus, said, “We’re very excited to add the Busted Flush brand to Tyrus Books. [Busted Flush publisher] David Thompson is a dedicated and tireless advocate of crime fiction and I look forward to seeing the Busted Flush brand continue to grow.” Thompson will continue in his current role, publishing about 20 titles a year. Together, Tyrus and Busted Flush will have about 45 books in print by the end of this year, with another 20 titles scheduled for release next spring.
As a result of the acquisition, Busted Flush, which is based in Houston, Tex., will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Tyrus Books, which is in Madison, Wisc. Both companies are distributed by Consortium.
