After a damning expose on 60 Minutes Sunday night, in which the truthfulness of Greg Mortenson's memoirs Three Cups of Tea and the follow-up Stones Into School were questioned, the author's publisher, Penguin, is saying little and has yet to take action. So what of Mortenson's future at the house? It is unclear.
Currently the publisher has a children's title from Mortenson set for November called Listen to the Children: The Story of Dr. Greg and Stones Into Schools. The fate of that book is unknown, as is the fate of Mortenson's two adult titles. When asked if Listen to the Children is still on track, and whether any changes are planned for Mortenson's adult titles (including a possible recall), a rep from Viking would say only that "we are reviewing the entire situation."
