PoliPoint Press is selling seven backlist titles to Berrett-Koehler Publishers of San Francisco for an undisclosed sum in a deal to be completed May 28. According to PoliPoint publisher Scott Jordan, BK has “the right kinds of marketing muscle and vertically integrated distribution to reach new audiences for these fantastic titles.” Although the seven titles will be changing hands they will continue to be distributed through Ingram Publisher Services, the distributor for both PoliPoint and BK.

The titles, which will become part of BK Currents line of current affairs titles, are Figures of Speech: First Amendment Heroes and Villains, William Bennett Turner; Never in My Wildest Dreams: A Black Woman's Life in Journalism, Belva Davis and Vicki Haddock; False Profits: Recovering from the Bubble Economy, Dean Baker; Best Care Anywhere, Second Edition: Why VA Health Care Is Better Than Yours, Phillip Longman; Making the Grades: My Misadventures in the Standardized Testing Industry, Todd Farley; Plunder and Blunder: The Rise and Fall of the Bubble Economy, Dean Baker; and Campaign Boot Camp: Basic Training for Future Leaders, Christine Pelosi.

Beginning on May 28, BK will be the publisher of record for the titles and will assume responsibility for sales and returns under the normal IPS/Berrett-Koehler terms going forward.
