Sarah Wilke, publisher of The Upper Room, has announced several staff changes effective July 1, as part of ongoing efforts to prepare for publishing in the future.

Lynne Deming, executive director of publishing, will assume the role of editor of Weavings: A Journal of the Christian Spiritual Life, in addition to other administrative responsibilities. Robin Pippin, in various editorial and managerial roles since 1990 and editorial director of Upper Room Books since 2006, will become associate executive director of publishing. She will oversee operations in book and magazine publishing as these teams create both print and digital content for the growing variety of distribution channels.

Jeannie Crawford-Lee, on staff at Upper Room Books since 2000 and developmental editor since 2009, will become acquisitions editor. In her new role she will be the contact person for all print and digital book proposals. She will also coordinate the blog at www.upperroom.org/books.

In March Joanna Bradley, editorial assistant since 2009, was promoted to assistant editor and administrative coordinator. Her responsibilities include editing and production tasks for preparation of print and digital content.

Commenting on the staff changes, Deming says, “We are fortunate to have on our current staff the skills and talents we need to move our book operation into the digital future.”
