Quayside Publishing Group, the Minneapolis division of Quarto Group, announced this week that Ray Wolf has been hired as publisher of their 12th imprint, Cool Springs Press, and assumed his new responsibilities on August 1. Quarto Group/Quayside Publishing acquired Cool Springs Press, headquartered in Brentwood, Tenn., six months ago. Less than a month after the acquisition, Cool Springs' publisher, Roger Waynick, died unexpectedly after suffering a stroke.

Wolf, who is relocating from Tampa to Minneapolis, previously was the director of new business development at Meredith Publishing, which included coordinating the company’s Home Depot home improvement series. He also was director of custom publishing for Rodale for 14 years. Most recently, he served as CFO and managing editor for Eco Focus, a market research company specializing in sustainable products and services, as well as a publishing industry consultant.

Cool Springs Publishing’s employees will work out of the Tennesse office with Wolf managing operations from Minneapolis. Wolf will report to Bryan Trandem, Quayside group publisher, who is also based in Minneapolis.

“We have great respect for Ray’s longtime involvement in home and garden publishing,” Trandem said, “We’re excited about his ability to maintain the imprint.”
