Ingram has signed two digital support deals, coming to terms with SAGE and Bilbary. Additionally, Ingram has announced access to its e-textbook platform through Blackboard Learn.

SAGE, an independent academic international publisher of journals, books, and electronic media, will use Ingram's CoreSource for digital asset management and distribution. The two companies are already working together on the print-on-demand side with Ingram's Lightning Source, so the deal will expand their relationship.

Bilbary is the Internet-based consumer e-book library and retail store founded by Tim Coates, and their agreement with Ingram will allow their 750,000 searchable titles to be available for purchase at Bilbary's launch (set for March), and for rent later in the year.

The new Blackboard Building Block for the VitalSource platform gives institutions a tool to implement digital textbooks for students in mobile, online, and offline environments. The platform allows for integrated notes, highlights, annotations, and sharing capability through a single sign-on environment.
