The McEvoy Group, whose book properties include Chronicle Books, Princeton Architectural Press, and becker&mayer!, has acquired GMG Publishing Corp., a New York-based international publisher of fine art stationery and paper gifts, from its owner and founder, Gerald Gailson.
Founded in 1979, GMG Publishing Corp. is comprised of Galison Publishing, known for its paper products, including boxed notecards, stationery, journals, and other gift products; Mudpuppy Press, creators of toys and gifts, educational puzzles, and games; Galison Holiday, a division that offers holiday greeting cards; and Galison Custom, which develops proprietary gift and stationery products for companies, non-profits, and retailers. Galison will remain based in New York.
“We’re excited to welcome Galison to our family of companies,” says McEvoy Group founder and CEO, Nion McEvoy. “We believe that, together, Galison and Chronicle will be the category leader in the paper goods market both in the U.S. and around the world.”
