Kimberly Snead has been hired to fill the newly created role of director of brand strategy at Random House's Crown Publishing Group. Snead joins Crown from Nickelodeon/MTV where she was director of consumer marketing and led strategy in the area for Nickelodeon's Kids & Family programming. Before Nickelodeon she worked on brand strategy at Kraft.
The new position at Crown will, the publisher said, allow it to "expand the suite of existing services that we provide to benefit our authors while supporting our core publishing mission." Snead will be working with the division's authors (as well as their agents), helping them more clearly define, and extend, their brand. Crown said that, specifically, Snead will be working in "consumer insights and research, brand architecture and messaging, as well as licensing, merchandising, and complementary product development."
