Augsburg Fortress, publisher of bibles and congregational resources, has signed with National Book Network International to handle its distribution. NBNi will now do sales, marketing and distribution for the publisher in the U.K., Europe and a handful of other markets around the globe.
Jed Lyons said: "Augsburg Fortress is one of the leaders in religious publishing in North America with a worldwide reputation for its superb book program. NBN and its sister company in the UK, NBNi, are committed to developing a strong group of publishers of books on religion and spirituality to supplement our own Sheed & Ward, Cowley, and Jason Aronson lists." Augsburg Fortress was distributed by Alban Books in the UK and its business will be fully moved to NBN by the fourth quarter of 2012.
Will Bergkamp, publisher and managing director for Fortress Press said: "As a founding member and part owner of Alban Books it was a difficult decision to end our involvement with a company that has done an excellent job for many years distributing Fortress Press content in the UK, Ireland and continental Europe. The last few years have brought tremendous change to the distribution of content and we have worked hard to find the right European distributor as our publishing program has changed from a trade focused publishing program to an academic and reference publishing program. NBNi, with their strong reach into the academic and library markets, is a great fit for our new focus and essential to our future growth."
