Vermont-based Chelsea Green Publishing is the first press to offer a book-length look at the agenda of native politico and Democratic presidential candidate, Senator Bernie Sanders.
On September 8, the press will release Jonathan Tasini’s The Essential Bernie Sanders and His Vision for America ($14 paperback original) with a 50,000-copy first printing. The title will also be available as an e-book.
“This is an important book, because [Sanders] is offering serious solutions to the challenges facing the country: common sense reforms that will make our current political, social, and economic systems more just and sustainable,” said Chelsea Green cofounder, president, and publisher Margo Baldwin.
The 31-year-old indie press is committed to having books in stores less than eight weeks after the delivery of the manuscript by former National Writers Union president, Tasini, an economics and political analyst. It pulled off a similar feat for George Lakoff’s Don’t Think of an Elephant! and Robert Kuttner’s Obama’s Challenge, which both became New York Times bestsellers.
