Red Tower Books, an imprint of Entangled Publishing, is partnering with the U.K.'s Penguin Books to launch Red Tower in the U.K. as an imprint of its Penguin Michael Joseph division. The expansion marks Penguin Michael Joseph’s first imprint in its 90-year history.
The U.K.-based Red Tower imprint will debut this summer with Devney Perry’s romantasy Shield of Sparrows, out in May in the U.S., with three further titles from the Red Tower line to follow in 2025. Going forward, the imprint plans to publish 12 titles annually.
Penguin Michael Joseph publishes such authors as Clive Cussler, Stephen Fry, Liane Moriarty, Jojo Moyes, Jodi Picoult, and Eckhart Tolle in the U.K., in addition to its robust fantasy list, which has seen particular success in the last few years and includes such authors as Raven Kennedy and Frances White. It will also publish the latest novel by SenLinYu, Alchemised, simultaneously with Del Rey Books in the U.S. in September.Since its launch in 2022, Red Tower has become a powerhouse in the new adult and romantasy spaces, publishing Rebecca Yarros's blockbuster Empyrean series, as well as BookTok star Hannah Nicole Maehrer's Assistant to the Villain series. For its part, Penguin Michael Joseph will continue to acquire and publish fantasy for its own list, which will remain separate from Red Tower in the U.K., while bringing Red Tower books under its umbrella and into international markets.
"We are proud and delighted to be partnering with Red Tower Books in what is an incredibly exciting new venture for us," said Penguin Michael Joseph managing director Louise Moore, noting that teaming with Red Tower will "bring new scope and ambition to our publishing." Liz Pelletier, publisher at Entangled Publishing, added: "With Penguin Random House’s exceptional passion for books and distribution networks, we’re thrilled to unite our international publishing efforts under one powerful brand, ensuring that our authors’ voices resonate with an even broader audience."
