Crown Publishers has announced a 1.5 million first printing for former President George W. Bush’s, Decision Points, which will be released November 9 across North America. The book is a chronicle of the 14 most critical and historic decisions made by Bush in and out of office.
In addition to the hardcover and regular e-book, Crown will simultaneously publish a deluxe interactive e-book edition that will include a host of extra features such as videos from the defining moments of the Bush presidency, handwritten letters from Bush’s personal correspondence, the full texts of his most important speeches, and more than 50 additional photographs not contained in the print edition. The hardcover, audiobook (read by Bush), and both e-book editions will have a suggested retail price of $35 each. Explaining the price being the same for the regular and deluxe e-books, spokesperson David Drake said Crown is trying to build a market for the new deluxe (or enhanced) market, "and are offering attractive pricing in support of that goal."
Calling Decision Points a nontraditional president memoir, Tina Constable, senior v-p, publisher, observed, “It is exciting to be able to publish this news-making book across multiple platforms—print, audio, and digital—to bring history alive for readers.”
