CrossBooks, a Christian self-publishing operation, will cease operations on April 30. The company launched in 2009 and has published over 1,000 books through B&H Publishing Group, the publishing division of LifeWay Christian Resources.
“CrossBooks was created to respond to the needs of authors with biblical-centered editorial and promotional expertise," said Dave Schroeder, v-p of publicity at B&H, and that B&H has decided to close CrossBooks because “B&H simply decided to use resources to pursue other opportunities."
CrossBooks vetted its books with help from a theological review team to make sure books were consistent with LifeWay’s values. LifeWay is owned by the Southern Baptist Convention.
Authors with “open contracts,” or whose books have not yet been published, are being directed to other publishers. “They have received refunds for services not yet completed,” said Schroeder.
