The Power of Positive Living and other books by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale are undergoing a modern makeover after being re-released in digital format for the first time this week.
Dr. Peale, who pastored Marble Collegiate Church and founded Guideposts magazine before his death in 1993, became a thought leader of his time with the Bible-based message of positive living. Peale’s family said that adapting their father’s books to the digital world makes his message more accessible and easier to read.
“My father's words impacted millions of lives during his lifetime and beyond,” Dr. Peale’s daughter Margaret Peale Everett told PW. “Because we believe his message is timeless, we feel certain that it will resonate with a new generation and we are thrilled to work together to extend this message and legacy.”
The Peale Foundation re-issued the books in collaboration with Open Road Media in hopes of sharing the author’s lessons of faith with younger readers who have grown up in the digital age.
Electronically reformatted books by Dr. Peale include:
The Positive Power of Jesus Christ (Tyndale House, 1980)
Positive Imaging: The Powerful Way to Change Your Life (Fleming H. Revell Company, 1982)
The True Joy of Positive Living (William Morrow & Co., 1984)
Have A Great Day (Fleming H. Revell Company, 1985)
Why Some Positive Thinkers Get Powerful Results (Fawcett, 1986)
The Power of Positive Living (Fawcett, 1990)
Established by Dr. Peale and his wife Ruth Stafford Peale, The Peale Foundation owns the rights to the titles. The e-books are listed for $11.99 on Amazon, Apple, Barnes & Noble online, Google, and Kobo. In addition to the e-books, Dr. Peale’s sermons are also going digital through an app for mobile phones from The Peale Foundation.
