Rachel Hollis kicks off the New Year still at #1 on PW’s Religion Nonfiction list with Girl, Wash Your Face, continuing its longstanding run at the top. Nearly one year after its publication, Girl, Wash Your Face has sold over 2.3 million copies to date, according to Thomas Nelson, and the tough-talking, motivational book saw a sales boost amid the season of New Years resolutions. Hollis, who is the founder of TheChicSite.com and CEO of The Hollis Co. (formerly Chic Media), also promoted the book during speaking engagements throughout the month of January, including the Women Connect event in Fargo, N.D., attended by over 4,000 people. The author’s next book, Girl, Stop Apologizing, comes out on March 12 from HarperCollins Leadership.
Beyond Blessed by Robert Morris, which applies biblical principles to financial goals, debuted at #10 on our Religion Nonfiction list. The book received blurbs from Christian authors such as Brian Houston, Max Lucado, and Franklin Graham, and marketing and publicity included appearances on the Dave Ramsey radio show, Charisma Magazine, and more.
With This Pledge by Tamera Alexander debuted at #1 in Religion Fiction, overtaking Karen Kingsbury’s To the Moon and Back, which fell to #2. Marketing and publicity for With This Pledge included the special tours of southern mansions hosted by the author surrounding the book's launch. In our review, PW called the book “an exceptional tale of faith, hope, and love based on a real-life romance.”
