Zondervan Gets ‘Ready for Anything’
Stephanie Smith at Zondervan took world rights from Rachelle Gardner of Books & Such Literary Management to a new book by Kathi Lipp, the bestselling author of The Husband Project (Harvest House) as well as several home organization books. Slated for publication in June 2020, Ready for Anything: Preparing Your Heart and Home for Any Circumstance draws on faith to lay out steps for “how to face the unexpected with confidence,” according to the publisher.
Blogger Brings Debut to HarperOne
Kathryn Renz Hamilton at HarperOne took world rights from Amy Elizabeth Bishop at Dystel, Goderich & Bourret LLC to Living Brave: A Guidebook for Misfits, Renegades, and Troublemakers by Shannon Dingle, a blogger and activist whose writing about race, sexual abuse, and disability has appeared on Religion News Service, USA Today, and more. Slated for publication in spring 2021, the book encourages readers to “wrestle with difficult topics [and] take a stand for justice,” according to the publisher.
Abilene Christian Imprint to ‘Break Bread’
In a world rights deal, director of Abilene Christian University Press’ Leafwood Publishers imprint Jason Fikes bought a book by blogger and event planner Jessica Herberger tentatively titled Break Bread Together: Cultivating a Closeness with Your Circle of Intimate Friends. In it, Herberger looks at Jesus Christ and the disciples at The Last Supper for examples of what friendship and community looks like and how to apply them to daily life. The book is scheduled for publication in June 2020, and Blythe Daniel of the Blythe Daniel Agency, Inc. represented the author in the deal.
