Ainsley Earhardt, host of Fox News’ television series Fox and Friends, is celebrating individuality in her third book for children, I’m So Glad You Were Born. Featuring illustrations by Kim Barnes, the picture book will be published by Zonderkidz on September 27.
“This book celebrates all the reasons we are so glad our children are born and how special they are,” Earhardt said in a statement. “It reminds children they have a purpose, there’s a plan for their life, that God loves them and they are worthy of having a wonderful life.”
I’m So Glad You Were Born emphasizes the traits that make a child special, according to Earhardt, who has written two previous children’s books: Take Heart, My Child: A Mother’s Dream (Aladdin, 2016) and Through Your Eyes: My Child’s Gift to Me (Aladdin, 2017). Her memoir, The Light Within Me, followed in 2018 from Harper.
“I hope it helps parents, grandparents, and caregivers to slow down and take the time to tell the children in their lives how grateful and appreciative they are for all the special things that make a child who they are,” she added. Earhardt announced the book on Fox and Friends on Tuesday, saying: “It’s all about fun. We need more fun, especially after Covid.”
Megan Dobson, v-p and publisher of Zonderkidz who acquired I’m So Glad You Were Born, says the book features a catchy and celebratory message as well as and colorful, engaging illustrations, offering an example of the text: “I’ll bang the drums loudly and blow the brass horn, and shout to the world I’m so glad you were born!”
Dobson adds that the book was born out of a goal shared with Earhardt to build up children. “We’re excited to share this book with the world and emphasize to children just how loved, cherished, and important they are,” she says.
The book will have an initial print run of 100,000 copies. Cait Hoyt of CAA represented Earhardt in the book deal, while Robbin Brosterman of Bright Group represented Barnes.
